Japanese auto-parts maker inaugurates P1-B plant in PHL

Japanese auto parts supplier Tokai Rika Co. Ltd. inaugurated its latest plant today, February 10 in Santa Rosa, Laguna. The firm invested PhP1 billion for its fourth expansion.

Its local arm, Tokai Rika Philippines is listed under the Philippine Economic Zone Authority. Michio Aoki, TRP president said in an interview, a USD100 million exports revenue is expected to be generated in a span of three years and will likewise create 300 jobs through its expansion. Currently, it has 982 employees.

The Japanese firm is considered as one of Toyota’s biggest supplier of automotive switches. Aside from Toyota, GM, Ford and Subaru in North America, Tokai Rika also supplies the ASEAN market for Toyota, Suzuki, and Mazda in Indonesia.

The 10 types of automotive switches manufactured by TRP includes back-up lamp switches, tire monitor switches, power seat and blower switches, 10 types of lever combination switches, and six types of power window switches.
