Chinese general rebuts ‘unwanted critism’ from Japan and US

Lieutenant-General Wang Guanzhong, the People’s Liberation Army’s deputy chief of general staff said on Sunday that the Chinese delegation “have this feeling that the speeches of Mr. Abe and Mr. Hagel are a provocative action against China.”

U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe earlier in the forum said China is making provocative acts and intimidations in China Sea.

The Chinese general prefered to go off his prepared speech to rebut US and Japan’s previous speeches. In his speech, he mentioned that China does not interfere in other countries’ internal affairs and that their policy is defensive in nature.

Wang said he was completely surprised with the unsolicited critisms from US and Japan that are coordinated and made to support each other.
