Turkey military downs unidentified drone: Russia says all UAV in routine

The Turkish military said it has downed an unidentified drone in Turkish airspace near the border with Syria on Friday. The Turkish armed forces added that several warnings were issued prior the said unidentified aircraft was downed, Turkish media reports.

The Russian Defense Ministry immediately said that all its aircraft operating in Syria have returned to base and Russian drones are operating in routine.

“All planes of the Russian Air Group in the Syrian Arab Republic have returned to the Hmeimim Airbase after completing their combat missions,” Russia Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Koneshenkov said as quoted by Russian media RT.

“Russian unmanned aerial vehicles conducting monitoring and aerial reconnaissance on the territory of Syria, are operating in the routine mode,” Koneshenkov added.
