North Korea prepares for war: US, SoKor begin largest annual military exercise

“The prevailing situation where a great war for national reunification is at hand requires all the Korean People’s Army units to become guard units fully prepared for war politically and ideologically, in military technique and materially,” North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un said as quoted by Korean Central News Agency.

Kim told his military to train harder to become guard unit to crush United States and allies. “The title of guard, the highest given to elite units, was created in July 1950 during the war,” South Korean news agency Yonhap reports.

The North Korean leader made the statement as United States and South Korea commence an eight-week air, naval and ground military training involving tens of thousand South Korean military personnel and couple of thousand American troops.

Foal Eagle, starts March 2, is one of the largest annual military exercise in the world. The exercise is defensive in nature, however, it irks the North believing it is a rehearsal for invasion.
