Chinese airplane passenger opens emergency exit for fresh air

A Chinese airplane passenger in for a local flight of Xiamen Air from Hangzhou to Chengdu has created a scare by opening an emergency exit to allegedly breathe some fresh air before the plane takes-off.

“It’s my first time seeing a passenger open the safety door. He told the attendants he just wanted some fresh air – hope our flight won’t be delayed for too long,” says in the caption of a photo uploaded by a passenger in the same flight.

“It was his first travel by air,” an airline staff told Southern Metropolis Daily. “He did not cause delay or any other direct loss to the airline.”

Maintenance crew of the airline immediately closed the emergency exit for the said flight to leave on time. The airline management did not sanction the passenger citing there was no harm intended.
