Chinese government in Hong Kong iterates indisputable sovereignty over South China Sea

“Despite all these clamors, the fact that China has indisputable sovereignty over the islands and their adjacent waters cannot be changed,” a spokesman of Commissioner’s Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong said Monday.

The statement was made after, July 6, dozens of Vietnamese residing in Hong Kong protest against China’s “arrogant” territorial claims in the South China Sea.

The Viet Nam Fisheries Surveillance Department reported Monday that China has up to 110 ships of various types, including military vessels, to protect Haiyang Shiyou-981, the oil rig illegally positioned by China in VietNam’s exclusive economic zone, as reported by Vietnam News.
