Twenty-six lovely candidates to vie for the title Miss World Philippines 2014 were officially unveiled to the press Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Eclipse Bar of Solaire Resort and Casino. The event was hosted by actor Mikael Daez and Miss World 2011 1st Runner-up Gwen Ruais.
Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte was present at the event. It was confirmed that the office of the governor will take care of the pageant’s swimsuit competition in Caramoan Island on Saturday, September 20, 2014.
The twenty-six Miss World Philippines 2014 aspirants are Lorraine Kendrickson, Cyra Guilalas, Alexa Kirby, Priscilla Kimberley dela Cruz, Gazini Christiana Ganados, Kristine Angeli Estoque, Rachel Louise Peters, Rachelle Emmylou Carandang, Ranjelah Marie Oval, Grace Ann Bautista, Moriel Olea, Christine Balaguer, Kimberly Anne Sarreal, Nicole Donesa, Therese Regli, Ina Dominica Guerrero, Kimberly Pajares, Ruffa Nava, Valerie Weigmann, Nelda Ibe, Jean Marie Feliciano, Abegail Galisim, Frances Ruth Constantino, Carina Jennah Aguilar, Eliza Johanna Cruz, and Jahziel Pernia.
The pageant has an advocacy of “Beauty with a Purpose,” Miss World Philippines focuses on using beauty by giving back. The winner along with her court will put beauty to good use by caring for marginalized women and children of the Philippines through various charities.
This year’s pageant is likely to be remarkable as Philippines’ pride Miss World 2013 Megan Young will come home to crown her successor.
The Miss World 2014 Philippines Pageant will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on October 12, 2014.
