Dream. Believe. Survive. These are the guiding principles aspiring stars should keep in mind in the over-all talent search, StarStruck. In a report by GMA news’ 24 Oras, Tuesday, the sixth season of the reality talent-search will be aired again soon.
Although no date has been announced yet, actress Jennylyn Mercado, female winner of the show’s first batch, shared her excitement to see the new set of contestants and also the show itself.
Recalling her audition, Mercado said that during her time, there were around ten people only in the queue. To aspiring talents, a word of advice from Mercado, love your craft. According to her, you need to have courage and you have to love what you’re doing – singing, dancing, or acting, to succeed.
StarStruck, made its debut on Philippine television on the last quarter of 2003. The program aims to discover new celebrities through a series of auditions nationwide. Winners were voted by the viewers through SMS and also chosen by the judges. After five seasons for adults and one season for kids, the program ended in 2010.
StarStruck became a success after launching the careers of some of the most popular celebrities and beauty queens today, among them are, Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, Christine Reyes, Paulo Avelino, Rich Asuncion (1st runner-up, Bb. Pilipinas 2009) and Megan Young, who was crowned as the first Filipina to win the Miss World crown in 2013.
