Kim Chiu donates to ALS, saves the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ for later

Tuesday – Kim Chiu, nominated by headwriter/blogger Darla Sauler, has accepted the ice bucket challenge. Chiu, in the micro-blogging site Twitter, posted a message sent by als.org confirming her donation.

In her post, Chiu assured Sauler that she will eventually do the actual challenge, but in a later date, after she has rested and regained her strength due to her busy work schedule.

Apart from her role as Andrea in ‘Ikaw Lamang Book Two’, and being a regular in ASAP 2014, Chiu is also shooting a new movie with the working title, ‘Past Tense’. The upcoming Star Cinema movie is directed by Mae Cruz, who also spearheaded, ‘Bride for Rent’, Chiu’s recent blockbuster movie with partner Xian Lim.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is a campaign to raise awareness and funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). ALS, also known as the Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a neurodegenerative disease that targets nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Affected individuals lose their ability to control muscle movement and later become totally paralyzed.
