Local showbiz’s ‘Teen King & Queen’, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are said to be eyed as the next Angelo Buenavista and Yna Macaspac in the remake of the hit teleserye, ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo’.
It was recalled that last year, as ABS-CBN’s summer station ID paid tribute to the past 60 years, highlighting its major TV moments, the appearance of KathNiel, recreating the the hit soap, raised rumors of its remake.
Tuesday, August 19, during the press conference for her new endorsement, Nails by Chic Centre, Kathryn was asked if the said rumors were true. While the 18-year-old actress did not confirm if their loveteam will lead the supposed remake, she was happy to share that she was open to the possibility of doing the project if it was offered to them.
‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo’ (lit. My Promise to You) is a primetime Philippine TV drama which ran from 2000-2002. It launched the successful team-up of actors Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa. The soap, directed by Olivia Lamasan, gained local and international success. It was shown in Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Ghana among others.
Although news of the remake is yet to be confirmed, fans of KathNiel are already anticipating that their loveteam will be chosen for the part.
