Ramon Bautista, officially declared ‘persona non grata’ in Davao City

In an update from the Facebook page of ‘Maayong Buntag Mindanao (Official)’, it says that Ramon Bautista is declared by the councilors as an unwelcome person in Davao.

The resolution stated, ‘There is a need to make Mr. Bautista understand that as a visitor of a place he should be mindful of decency and propriety.” Furthermore, the resolution says, “he is an extremely corrupt influence to the youth and his abusive behavior should not be tolerated”.

It is recalled that Bautista got called off for calling the women of Davao as “hipon” or shrimp in a joke.

Although making a public apology after that, his joke offended the city’s officials, especially former Davao city mayor Sara Duterte, who urged her councilor friends in the social media (Facebook) to pass a resolution declaring Bautista as ‘persona non grata’.

Bautista, who had previously posted his apology on Twitter, reacted to the resolution, tweeting, “I respect the decision of the Davao officials, and I will abide by it.”
