“Obviously if sanitized, it is my obligation to release the list because it’s a corruption issue. It’s everyone’s obligation to call the attention of the authority,” former senator now Rehabilitation Czar Panfilo Lacson when asked if he will reveal the list of involved lawmakers Napoles gave him. He said there are about 16 senators included in the list. Lacson promised to release Napoles’ list if the list handed to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima will be purged.
“I have the list. What I don’t know is what was given to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima because one month before she talked to the secretary [de Lima], she contacted me, and then she sent her child and husband,” Lacson said referring to Napoles contacting him and handing over to him the list through Napoles’ husband and daughter.
According to the former senator, Napoles contacted her asking for immunity in exchange of a ‘tell-all’ testimony. “She was exploring the possibility to be granted immunity so I told her that if it was immunity she was aspiring for, then the best person to show this is Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales because that’s in the Ombudsman Law, that she can grant immunity.”
Napoles chose Lacson because the former senator had not allocated his PDAF (pork barrel fund).
