Former President and now Manila City Mayor Joseph Estrada, who is yet to announce his presidential bet in the 2016 elections, is endorsing leftist lawmaker Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares. Estrada made the endorsement today during the leftist House of Representatives coalition Makabayan’s convention at San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, Manila.
Colmenares is the first in Estrada’s senatorial line-up. “Congressman Neri (Colmenares) is the first candidate I chose to endorse because I believe in him and his vision for our country.”
The former President said Colmenares as congressman has already done, Estrada added how much more if Colmenares becomes a senator.
Senators Grace Poe and Chiz Escudero were also present at the said event. Poe and Escudero, who are running for President and Vice-president, also endorsed Colmenares’ senatorial bid. The Makabayan coalition is also endorsing the Poe-Escudero tandem.
“It is my honor to endorse Congressman Neri Colmenares,” Poe said.
“I am with you in helping and making sure that Neri will reach his goal,” Escudero told the Makabayan bloc.
Colmenares is first in Poe-Escudero’s senatorial line-up.
