Senator Grace Poe has declared her presidential bid today, September 16 at University of the Philippines Bahay ng Alumni in Quezon City. She also enumerated twenty of her priority issues that the country is facing. Number thirteen in her priorities is the issue of West Philippine Sea and the the strengthening of Philippine Coast Guard and Armed Forces of the Philippines.
“West Philippine Sea is ours,” she said in Filipino adding that Philippines will not give up the territory and fight for it peacefully and according to law.
She added that the coast guard and armed forces will be strengthened. “Alinsunod dito, palalakasin natin ang ating Coast Guard at Sandatahang Lakas para hindi tayo kinakaya-kaya ng ibang bansa.”
Number one in her priorities is education. She said education in the Philippines should go ‘digital’.
She also mentioned agriculture, infrastructure, fight against corruption with FOI, lowering tax, wages and benefits of workers, electricity, OFWs, crime and drugs, peace talks with all rebels, human rights, health, traffic, train and road projects, internet speed, arts, culture and sports, climate change, tourism, and nutrition to children as her top priorities.
