”Sen. Grace Poe will make an important announcement in connection with her plans for the 2016 National Elections,” stated in the lady senator’s media advisory.
For the last two days, news reports about Poe’s major announcement have circulated in the newspapers and social media.
A reliable source from Poe’s camp said she will be running for president, a position that her father, the late movie actor Fernando Poe Jr., aspired but unfortunately lost to former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the controversial 2004 presidential election.
Supporters from world of politics and showbiz along with her friends and families led by her mother Susan Roces are expected to attend the announcement.
Poe, who topped the 2013 senatorial election, will reportedly deliver a speech where she is expected to address several issues particularly the issue on her citizenship.
Poe was leading the recent surveys, besting Vice President Jejomar Binay and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas as favorite to win the presidential election next year.
Poe is the most sought-after running mate of Roxas who was recently endorsed by President Benigno Aquino III as Liberal Party’s standard-bearer.
