perhaps to be more effective in recruiting for armed services, citizen may need more information as to how and what units in the armed forces their knowledge and acquired expertise can be of better use. with knowledge available on how a citizen can best serve the country while in the armed forces will allow him or her to plan better and not be intimidated by apprehensions that he or she may be intruding into an unknown destiny if not untimely death. Do the AFP have a military service window for a nurse? Yes, the Nurse Corps… then advertise specific needs and offers to lure civilian nurses… a window for engineers?..Yes the Corps of Engineer..then advertise specific offerings. Is there a military career waiting for a ground infantry?..benefits?.. so that as a soldier he or she can support families and extended families. A mother of a college-trained male would not let her son go to join the military service with perceptions of short life. Someone, a retired Master Sergeant came home in his province after 30 years in military service who end up on line in the town's tricycle terminal waiting for the much awaited passenger…. to augment his pension ….doesn't look like an attractive advertisement for the AFP …to call "come and join the Armed forces of the Philippines". It is not enough to for the AFP to challenge one's patriotism or to proved his or her bravery. The AFP knows more than this….perhaps some people in the decision ranks need to stop and think realistically.

Sad to say but our young men and women are soft. either there hands are on the computer or on there mobile phone. Its about time we revive the solid foundation of the reserve forces. THE ROTC. yes there are some corrupt drill masters but not all are. Our politician never thought that this day would come when our Sovereignty is threaten. I guess there all wrong. Recruitment is good. and may i suggest, pullout records from the previous reservist roster of troops and ask them to report and be accounted. at least a re orientation for mobilization would be a great step.
