The filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) ended today, 5 pm with at least four major contender for presidency, they are Senators Grace Poe, Miriam Santiago, Vice-president Jejomar Binay and former Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas. The Filipino voters will be casting votes on May 9, 2016.
“Muli, ako’y humihingi ng inyong dasal para marating natin ang ating pangarap para sa ating bayan. Hindi po ito kaya ng iisang tao lamang. Pero naniniwala ako na ito at hindi lamang nakukuha sa karanasan o sa talino, kundi sa tapang ng puso at tapat na pusong nais manilbihan para sa lahat,” Senator Poe said.
“If I become president sometime in the very near future, this country will be much better that it was before. Today this country suffers from the malaise of plunder,” Senator Santiago said.
“We will give everything for this fight. This is a fight that needs to be fought, fight for our countrymen, fight every Filipino families and the prosperity everyone dreams of,” former Secretary Roxas said.
“For the longest time, under the leadership of different administrations, one always remain neglected: to address the concerns of the poor. Progress is useless if it will include everyone. This is what the government should focus on. This is what I’m going to focus on if I become president,” Vice-president Binay said.
