Philippine boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao on Friday filed his certificate of candidacy (CoC) as senator for the 2016 polls at the Commission on Elections in Intramuros.
Accompanied by his wife, Jinkee and sons Jimuel and Michael, Pacquiao arrived at the poll body’s main office at around 11:20 a.m.
He is running under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Once elected, Pacquiao said he would provide free education for the poor, help overseas Filipino workers and develop grassroots sports for athletes. (
