Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila M. De Lima on Thursday clarified that she is not ready to run for vice president in the elections in 2016.
De Lima made the clarification amidst the “floating” made by Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad of the name of De Lima as the running-mate of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, who his the standard bearer of Liberal Party.
According to De Lima, she has not yet been formally asked to run for vice president.
Nevertheless, De Lima said she is not ready to run for any other position higher than for senator.
As of Thursday, De Lima has not yet made a direct declaration of her plans in 2016, although she has already hinted several times in the past months about her interest to run for senator.
