Aspiring policeman sells graham balls to support schooling

The inspiring story of John Eric Ventura, 19, who sells graham balls has gone viral in social networking sites. John Eric is a first year Bachelor of Science in Criminology student of Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite.

According to John Eric, he can make more than one thousand graham balls per day with the help of his mom. His mom is a housewife while his dad works as an airport taxi driver. He is third among four siblings.

John Eric said he is earning approximately one thousand pesos a day. Half of his earnings go to his general fees, other school expenses and allowance, while he gives the other half to his mom. At first, he thought his scholarship only covers fifty percent of his tuition fee. However, later he found out that his scholarship covers 100% of his tuition.

He added that the idea to sell graham balls came from his teammate in high school. John Eric started selling two weeks after the collegiate year started. From then on, he was known as “Kuya graham ball” to his schoolmates.
