8 of 10 Filipinos favor Japan, 9 of 10 concerned over dispute with China

A survey conducted by Pew Global Center, a fact tank, shows that Filipinos see Japan more favorable compared to China, South Korea and India. Pew Research Center is an independent fact tank aiming to inform the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world.

Pew’s Spring 2015 Global Attitudes survey says that 81 percent of Filipinos have positive view of Japan, while India got 48%, China with 54% and South Korea with 68%.

The same survey, Spring 2015 Global Attitudes Survey, also showed that 91% of Filipinos are concerned with the ongoing territorial disputes with China, while Vietnamese (83%), Japanese (83%) and South Korea 78% are among the most troubled by territorial frictions with China.

Among the 91% of surveyed Filipinos who expressed concern over territorial disputes with China, 56% are very concerned and 35% are somewhat concerned.
