“The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi marked National Heroes Day by organizing a week-long photo exhibit on monuments in the Philippines depicting the bravery and heroism of Filipinos,” the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
Monuments to an Exalted Past photo exhibit was formally opened on August 26 headed by Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Grace Relucio Princesa at the main atrium of Al Wahda Mall. It featured 20 photographs with narratives displaying the various monuments of Filipino heroes and historic events.
The exhibit ended August 31.
DFA said Ambassador Princesa paid homage to the Filipino heroes in Philippine history. She also paid tribute to Overseas Filipino workers and encourage them to continue their hard work for their families and for the country.
Aside from Embassy officers and staff, the opening of the exhibit was attended by the officials of Al Wahda Mall, officers and members of the Order of Knights of Rizal – Emarat Abu Dhabi Chapter, Philippine schools officials and teachers, leaders and members of Filipino community organizations in Abu Dhabi and the media. A certificate of appreciation was given to Al Wahda Mall for being the venue of the exhibit.
