Senator Trillanes: Binay’s UNA, Arroyo’s Lakas-CMD alliance a union of villains

The planned merger between Vice President Jejomar Binay’s United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is a union of villains, according to Senator Antonio Trillanes. The voting public should be on guard, the Senator told reporters in a press conference at Camp Aguinaldo Monday.

“Villains should not win,” Trillanes said.

“Birds of the same feather flock together,” the Senator said quoting a popular saying.

In an interview with DzMM radio, UNA spokesman Mon Ilagan said they are finalizing to have Lakas-CMD in UNA. “May mga pag-uusap na magaganap and I think that’s a welcome development.”

Senator Trillanes added he “have faith in the Philippine electorate that they will see who should lead the country and reject the crooks and the corrupt. They have done that before and they will do it again in 2016.”

Last week, Trillanes announced his vice-presidential bid in the 2016 elections.
