China tells Japan, Philippines to stop creating tension

The Chinese government is calling on Japan and Philippines to hype up or create tension in West Philippine Sea and entire Asian community. The comment from the China was made after a Japanese spy plane P3-C Orion and Philippine patrol aircraft had a training mission over Recto Bank.

“Currently, what the regional countries care most is still the issue of development,” Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang said Tuesday.

“We hope that relevant sides would not deliberately hype up or even create so-called tension in the region,” the Chinese spokesman said. “It is hoped that interactions between relevant sides could be conducive to regional peace and stability, rather than the contrary.”

The Japanese and Philippine Navy flew over Recto Bank for a for a search and rescue training mission.

“We practiced search and rescue patterns, which are essential in any humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations,” Marine Colonel Jonas Lumawag said.
