Binay resigns from Aquino’s cabinet

Vice President Jejomar Binay has officially resigned from President Benigno Aquino III’s Cabinet. “Vice President Jejomar C. Binay today tendered his irrevocable resignation from the Cabinet effective immediately,” Office of the Vice President Media Affairs head Joey Salgado said.

Makati City Rep. Abigail Binay hand-carried the resignation letter of her farther addressed to President Aquino.

”She was accompanied by Undersecretary Benjamin Martinez Jr., chief of staff of the Vice President. Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa received the letter at around 3:55 p.m. at the Office of the Executive Secretary,” Salgado adds.

Binay was the Presidential Adviser on overseas Filipino workers Concerns and the Chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and other Key Shelter Agencies.
