The Marine Battalion Landing Team-1 arrived at Sangley Point, Cavite City today after 10 years of deployment in Mindanao.
“The Philippine Navy welcomes the members of Marine Battalion Landing Team-1 who came from their 10-year deployment at various area of operations,” Philippine Navy said.
“They are here for retraining and refurbishing after battling the lawless elements as well as its support to the government peace and development efforts in Mindanao,” the Navy added.
Battle-hardened marines from MBLT-1 had experienced bloody clashes in their previous assignments in Mindanao.
They were part of security forces who ran after Filipino terrorist and bomb-maker Basit Usman.
