Japan Coast Guard chief Admiral Sato in the country

Admiral Yuji Sato, Commandant of Japan Coast Guard receives arrival honors from Philippine Coast Guard. “PCG personnel rendered an arrival honors to Admiral Yuji Sato the Commandant of Japan Coast Guard during his visit at the Headquarters Philippine Coast Guard on Monday, May 04,” the coast guard said.

Admiral Sato is in the country for the 11th Head of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting until May 7. Philippines and Japan coast guards are jointly hosting the said high level meeting of coast guard agencies in Asia.

Prior to arrival of Sato, a Japanese vessel arrived in Manila morning of May 3 at Pier 15, South Harbor. The JCG vessel PLH22 Yashima is set for 5th Joint Maritime Law Enforcement (MARLEN) Exercise tomorrow.

5th MARLEN Exercise focuses on combating piracy and armed robbery at sea.
