Brand new fishing nets and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) powered Fish Finders were turned over to the fishermen of Dagupan today. The project aims to increase their catch, lessen fishing costs and eventually boost their incomes.
The said fishing electronic devices will detect presence of fish beneath the sea. The project was funded by the Bottom-Up-Budgeting (BUB) program of the government that empowers local communities to determine their own needs in terms of essential support services.
400 fishermen benefited from the GPS Fish Finders and nets project under the BUB program.
