Co-founder of Microsoft and business magnate Bill Gates and his family visited the Philippines for a short vacation in Amanpulo Resort in Palawan and to check out an island in El Nido he wants to invest with, state-owned news agency reports.

The family, according to report, arrived in Palawan via an ultra long range business jet Bombardier Global Express, they immediately transferred into a private chopper. “More onlookers claimed that the Gates’ chopper flew to high-end island resort Amanpulo on Pamalican that is part of the Quiniluban Group of Cuyo islands and islets, north of the province,” PNA reports.

It is also believed that Bill Gates visited an island, name was not mentioned, where he and his Filipino partners plan to have a joint venture.

The family went back to Manila yesterday, Wednesday. No one was allowed to get near the Global Express plane except the plane crew and security team.

Other media reports also claim that Gates visited International Rice Research Institute in Los Baños, Laguna where he is the biggest donor.
