Manny Pacquiao is 2013 top Filipino taxpayer

Bureau of Internal Revenue released a list of top individual tax payers in the country. Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, who is set to fight against Floyd Mayweather on May 2 was listed as the number one individual tax payer. Pacquiao paid Php163.84 million in regular income taxes in 2013.

The top list for 2013 is based only on regular income tax payments made by an individual as of November 24, 2014.

Second to the boxing champ is Juanito Pornuevo Alcantara, a businessman who paid Php99.61 million in income taxes. In third place is Attorney Estelito Mendoza with P73.18 million income tax. Reynaldo Benoza Chico, Jr. ranked fourth place with P67.34 million. Andrew Tan, founder and chairman of Megaworld Corp. was in top five with Php67.18 million. President of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. ranked sixth on the list with P60.89 million tax payment. In the seventh place Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez with income tax payment of Php55.62 million followed by Mercury Drug president Vivian Que Azcona, who paid Php51.61 million in income tax. Ranked Ninth, Meralco president Oscar Reyes with P51.44 million and tenth on the list is Insular Life chairman and CEO Vicente Ayllon with P50.08 million.
