Philippine Navy receives 49 Officer Candidates

Philippine Navy-Naval Education and Training Command formally received 49 members of Naval Officer Candidate Course Class 27 through the Convening Ceremony and traditional Reception Rites on March 6, 2015.

“The newly convened class will go through the military training phase of their course where civilian antics will be eliminated as they transform into professional naval officers,” PN-NETC said.

The course prepares an officer candidate, ranked as Probationary Ensign, to be mentally, physically and emotionally fit to become a commissioned officer in the Philippine Navy. Graduates are commissioned Ensigns by the President of the Republic of the Philippines who also serves as the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
