The Philippine National Police officially received fifty-five new Toyota Hi-Ace commuter vans to its fleet of of wheeled vehicles enhancing mobility of police units in the country responding to police emergencies and for general purpose, PNP reports March 11.
These mobility assets were procured on September 11, 2014 which was sourced from the PNP’s Capability Enhancement Program fund with an Approved Budget for the Contract of Php 76,642,500.00.
These vans will be distributed to 17 Regional Crime Laboratory Offices nationwide and the five Police Districts of National Capital Region Police Office, selected Directorial Staff, Police Regional Offices and National Support Units such as Anti-Kidnapping Group, Anti-Cybercrime Group, Aviation Security Group, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
DILG Secretary Mar Roxas said that acquisition of patrol jeeps is underway. “All municipalities in the country would have at least one patrol jeep in the next 12 months.”
