The Philippine National Police applies the amount of PhP133.74 million pesos under General Appropriations Act of 2014 to look for a supplier for its 743 units Sub Machine Gun procurement project. Bid opening will be on April 17, 2015.
Delivery of the 743 sub-machine guns are divided in two tranches. First batch, 400 units, will be within ninety calendar days after the issuance of export permit and notice to proceed or 90 calendar days after the issuance of notice to proceed if units are locally manufactured. While the second tranche is within 150 days after the first tranche.
According to PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr., the procurement is part of Capability Enhancement Program conducted yearly by PNP. He said that capability enhancement of the police force is continuous to assure quality service for the Filipino people.
