Moro Islamic Liberation Front won’t submit Mamasapano report to PHL government

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front will not submit the result of their investigation regarding the January 25 Mamasapano Special Action Force operation that turned into massacre. MILF vice chairman for political affairs Ghadzali Jaafar and MILF chief negotiator Mohagher Iqbal were saying that they will only submit the ‘summary’ of the investigation to the International Monitoring Team as per protocol. The government can then get a copy from IMT.

“It’s the decision of the central committee that only the summary report will be given to all. The substance and quality of the summary is good,” Iqbal said. He added that the full report is exclusively for internal use.

However, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said “it would be better if they really cooperate so that our investigation is balanced, especially since they are claiming that they also lost 18 fighters and several civilians.”
