Armed Forces of the Philippines reports that 36 Abu Sayyaf Group members were killed in the ongoing military offensives against the terror group in Sulu. Intensive military operations against the ASG is now up for almost two weeks.
78 ASG bandits were wounded while 18 firearms were seized, the newly-appointed AFP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Joselito Kakilala said. While the government suffered four casualties and 44 wounded.
Government forces will continue the offensive until the group can no longer carry out terror activities, Kakilala added.
Kakilala assumed as the military spokesman today. He was the commander of AFP-Civil Relations Service. Cololnel Restituto Padilla Jr. will now focus as Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations.
