Subway, vehicle inspection system projects for President’s approval

The Public-Private Partnership Center is set to endorse the Php370-billion Mass Transit System Loop and the Php19.3-billion Motor Vehicle Inspection System for approval by the National Economic and Development Authority Board chaired by President Benigno S. Aquino III.

“There’s going to be a NEDA Board meeting on March 24 and two PPP projects would be up for approval or discussions,” PPP Center Executive Director Cosette Canilao said.

The MTSL project is the country’s first subway that will link Bonifacio Global City, Makati Central Business District and the Mall of Asia area to provide a higher-capacity mass transit system for the public. While MVIS project involves setting up Motor Vehicle Inspection Centers to test various categories of heavy duty, light duty and two wheeler vehicles in the country.
