Zhao Jianhua, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines said in his statement during the launch of Donald Tapan’s exhibit on Philippine fiestas and festivals at Department of Foreign Affairs headquarters Tuesday that Philippines remains safe for foreign tourists.
“There is an advisory, but it is just an advice not an order. Sure, we are encouraging more Chinese to come to the Philippines.”
“Despite some of the differences we have, our two countries remain friends and partners,” the ambassador said.
Regardless of the tension between the Philippines and China over the full claim of the latter on West Philippine Sea, Zhao said “our two nations are intertwined by historic ties. We are destined to be friends and partners.”
