“The Armed Forces of the Philippines has captured a factory of improvised bombs during the assault on a BIFF stronghold in (Bgy Dasikil,) Mamasapano town yesterday,” AFP said today in a news release.
Commander of the Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade Colonel Melquiades Feliciano said “our troops successfully seized a bomb-making facility after assaulting the enemy positions yesterday. The enemy was able to escape but the equipment and materials that are used to fabricate home-made bombs were left behind.”
Colonel Feliciano added that Basit Usman is being coddled by two small groups of BIFF bandits.
Since the declaration of all out offensive against the Moro rebel, AFP accounted nine killed BIFF fighters in Maguindanao while three soldiers were wounded.
