PHL Air Force, Navy take control of US NAvy P-8A Poseidon

Members of the Philippine Air Force and Navy – Navy Lt. Junior Grade Carlito Arquillo and Air Force 1st. Lt. Paat – were given the opportunity to take control of United States Navy’s premier long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft, P-8A Poseidon aircraft in a joint patrol mission.

U.S. Navy Patrol Squadron 45 was on a 3-week detachment at the Philippines Clark Air Base in support of the 7th Fleet Commander’s objectives aimed at strengthening maritime partnerships in the Pacific Region.

“It was a remarkable opportunity to work alongside the members of the Filipino Armed Forces,” said U.S. Navy Lt. Matthew Pool, Combat Air Crew 4 patrol plane commander. “Sharing this aircraft’s capabilities with our allies only strengthens our bonds.”
