Marwan’s nipa hut in Mamasapano burned by armed men

The nipa hut in Barangay Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao where Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir alias Marwan stayed was burned by a still unidentified armed group Tuesday night. “Yes its true that Marwan’s house was burned,” Moro Islamic Liberation Front 7th Brigade commander Haramin said over a local radio station in Cotabato City.

“The house is isolated and it was very dark so locals did not see the group responsible for the incident,” Haramin said. Several more huts were burned near Marwan’s nipa hut.

Philippine National Police Board of Inquiry head PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Director Benjamin Magalong said burning of huts will not affect the ongoing investigation in connection with the January 25 PNP-Special Action Force operation. There was “no intention to visit the site”, Magalong added.
