Armed Forces of the Philippines will now mediate between the clashing groups of Moro Islamic Liberation Front and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters. Clash between two rebel groups already resulted to dislocation of thousand families in North Cotabato and Maguindanao.
“We have to look into this. While it could only be clan war, we have to step in to put a stop to the fight,” Inquirer.net quoted AFP chief General Gregorio Pio Catapang. “We are also at war with the BIFF so we have look into this so as not to complicate things.”
General Catapang said the military will try to know the exact cause of the tension and act as some sort of arbiter while they are in the area.
