The private sector in North and Central Luzon with the alike of Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been advocating for the decongestion of Metro Manila. “And we would like to support that with the creation of the Metropolitan Clark Urban Development and Planning Authority as we see the advocacy already snowballing,” First District Pampanga Representative Yeng Guiao said as quoted by Sun Star Pampanga.
Yeng Guiao also said “the transfer of the Rizal Stadium and sports training center to Clark Freeport has been approved and will be done this year. We anticipate more developments to come.”
The Philippine Sports Commission sets the PhP3.5-billion training center for national athletes at Clark Freeport in Pampanga to be built by the end of this year.
“We’re exposed to pollution and the area easily gets flooded during heavy rains, making it difficult for our athletes to train,” PSC chair Richie Garcia said before 2014 ends, speaking about Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
