Philippine National Police Officer-in-Charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina demanded Moro Islamic Liberation Front to return all equipment they got from forty-four Special Action Force troopers who were killed in Mamasapano operation against Marwan. These includes weapons and personal belongings like cellphones.
“We demand that you return them to us,” Espina emphasized in a press conference. “They killed my men. Idedemanda namin silang lahat. Who are culpable, liable.”
According to a report from Rappler.com, Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters – a breakaway group of Moro Islamic Liberation Front – claim they got a baby Armalite, 4 M16s, 1 Bushmaster, 2 baby Armalites with M203 grenade launchers, 1 M16 with M203 grenade launcher and another long firearm.
However, Moro Islamic Liberation Front denies they got SAF’s weapons. In a report from GMA 7’s 24 Oras, an unnamed MILF commander said the private armed group of Ampatuan stole four Bushmaster and three handguns.
