Senator Drilon to PNP, AFP officials: Shut up

Senate President Franklin Drilon was asked by the press to comment on latest statements made by AFP Chief-of-Staff General Gregorio Pio Catapang and relieved PNP-SAF head Police Director Getulio Napeñas Jr., Drilon’s answer was “they should shut up.”

“I am asking them to shut up and speak only officially to the official bodies investigating this incident,” the Senate chief added. “There is an impact. Given their positions in government, the tense situation is not helped any by such ‘batuhan’, by among such officials.”

Earlier today General Catapang and Police Director Napeñas made statements on what they say as the truth on Mamasapano operation which led to the death of forty-four elite cops and Malaysian terrorist Marwan.

General Catapang said that the 6th Infantry Division sent reinforcements, however, ranged fire support was not initiated to prevent friendly fire. But the relieved SAF chief said they have been providing grid coordinates.
