Two Philippine Air Force pilots reportedly died in a plane crash off the waters of Nasugbu, Batangas. Captain John M. Bayao an instructor pilot and Second Lieutenant Al-Nazer B. Jana a student pilot were declared dead on the spot.
“The two pilots of ill-fated aircraft were declared dead on the spot and brought to Villamor Air Base at around 11:40 a.m.,” PAF spokesman Lt Col. Enrico Canaya said. “PAF already informed the next of kin and relatives of the pilots killed in the accident.”
Canaya added that Captain Bayao and 2Lt. Jana were flying with an aerobatic and trainer SF-260FH aircraft. They left Fernando Air Base in Lipa City at around 9 a.m. Saturday to practice a three-aircraft group air exhibition for the celebration of Nasugbu’s Liberation Day. The incident transpired approximately 40 minutes after take-off.
Investigation to know the cause of plane crash is underway.
