PNP speaks on Aquno’s absence during Arrival Honors

The Philippine National Police airs side on President Benigno Aquino III’s absence during the Arrival Honors prepared for 42 elite policemen killed during the Mamasapano clash in Maguindanao. PNP said the president’s concern was shown during the message to nation on January 28.

PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo in an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel’s Headstart said “President Aquino mentioned board of inquiry. He directed the PNP to maximize the benefits due to our fallen heroes. He reminded Secretary Mar Roxas, PNP OIC Espina for the awards na dapat nilang mare-receive.”

“That goes to show yung concern, the deep concern. Ramdam namin yung pakikiisa ng Presidente,” Cerbo added.

The PNP spokesman also said that family of each fallen elite policemen will receive around PhP900,000 to PhP950,000 from presidential fund, PNP commission fund and PNP funds.

Aquino’s absence in the said event yesterday caught the attention of Filipinos on social networking sites. The Filipino people believe that the commander-in-chief should be present in such events.
