All AFP installations at half-mast for five days: Solidarity with the PNP

Department of the Interior and Local Government officially released the statistics in the recent clash between Muslim rebels and Philippine National Police Special Action Force in Tukalinapao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao January 25. Officially, 44 policemen died in action; 12 were wounded in action and 336 policemen were accounted and safe.

Armed Forces Of the Philippines shows solidarity with the PNP by ordering all military installations in the country to lower the flags at half-mast.

“We mourn the loss of these brave policemen who paid the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for our country. They fought heroically and they have not died in vain,” AFP Chief of Staff General Gregorio Pio P Catapang Jr. said.

General Catapang ordered the General Headquarters and all other AFP camps, bases, and stations to fly the flag at half-mast for a period of five days starting January 26 at 12:00 o’clock.
