Annual Global Retirement Index of International Living, names Philippines as one of the top countries where Americans can choose to retire this 2015. Philippines was placed 23rd on the said retirement index. International Living is an American publishing entity which focuses on retiring overseas, living abroad, international real estate, investment and travel.
“With spiraling costs compelling more and more North Americans to retire overseas, retiring abroad has never been more attractive,” the publisher said in its report posted on InternationalLiving.Com.
Philippines scored high in terms of cost of living and fitting-in. Countries were rated based on buying and renting, benefits and discounts, cost of living, fitting in, entertainment and amenities, health care, infrastructures, and climate.
Ecuador was placed as the best country to retire for US citizens followed by Panama, Mexico, Malaysia and Costa Rica.
