Senate investigation on alleged Makati anomalies resuming

Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee chaired by Senator Aquilino Pimentel III will resume its investigation on the allegedly overpriced Makati City Hall Building II and related anomalies on January 22, 2015.

“There are more allegations of corruption in Makati that we have to tackle in the committee,” Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said. “This allegation of anomaly is different from the overpriced parking building, Makati Science High School and Hacienda Binay in Batangas.”

Trillanes added there is information saying that “Binay is giving mass housing projects to the favored contractors.” Vice President Jejomar Binay is the chair of Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.

Trillanes added that Binay is allegedly receiving half of favored contractors’ profits. However, these will not be tackled in current senate investigation.
