MILF cruiser weapons, high-powered firearms for decommissioning

Moro Islamic Liberation Front will turn over a total of seventy-five cruiser weapons and high-powered firearms for decommissioning next year in line with the peace process between the Philippine government and the MILF, said government peace panel chief Miriam Coronel-Ferrer.

“This will be a major event next year,” Ferrer told the media Tuesday night in event at Privato Hotel in Pasig City.

Twenty cruiser weapons including .50 and .30 caliber machine guns, rocket launchers, rocket propelled grenades, and mortars.

While fifty-five high-powered firearms including M-16, M-14, AK-47, Uzi, Thompson, Garand, and Carbine rifles will also be turned over and decommissioned.
